I am not good with aggressive sales clerks. Especially those of the product demonstration variety, where upon locking eyes with you, they thrust their product of choice into your face and say, "Do you have a moment?". I usually try and prepare a phrase beforehand, "I'm late", "I'm not interested", "I lost my entire extended family to a skincare product demonstration just like this", but despite this, the second I hear, "I'll give you a product demonstration for free" I'm hooked in. They can probably see the poor university student desperation in my eyes, or something.
Now, I do spend a fair bit of my meagre paycheck on skincare and cosmetics, so I know my way around the block when it comes to affordable products. I had to stop my jaw from dropping and shattering over the linoleum floors of my local Westfield when I found out that the honey peel alone cost $150 (Australian dollars).
In any case, after one fast-talking and rather charming salesperson, who would not take no for an answer, I found myself with one arm noticeably smoother than the other, a much lighter wallet, and a little paper bag filled with Organi products. I purchased the honey peel, but that was only after the salesperson took pity on me and threw in the day cream (which is another $150), and I was assured that both products should last me a full year.
Now that I've had a chance to use it a few times in my home setting, I thought I'd share a review for those out there who may be considering Organi products for themselves.
Taken from the Organi website, they claim:
The Organi range of superior quality, purity, effectiveness and eco-friendly skincare provides the results you've been looking for. Created & developed in Melbourne Australia, this range is not only effective and advanced, but also free from unfriendly synthetic ingredients, making it one of the few active skincare ranges safe to use, leaving skin beautifully healthy and radiant.
I love the idea of organic skincare (especially as I'm sometimes a little concerned when there are product lists that list 101 different chemicals with somewhat troubling and hard to pronounce names), but lets see if the products themselves impress.
MANUKA HONEY PEEL
Good enough to eat? |
As you can see here, it is an orange goo that smells pretty divine. It comes in a rather weighty glass container, and looks quite fancy on my bathroom counter. In fact, it may be the best looking skincare product I have in my lineup at the moment, and there are some adorable Etude House products tucked in there.
Not nearly as orange as they'd have you believe. |
All you need is a little blob on the provided spatula, and that is generally enough to cover my face. I have a smidge less than normal here, as I'm just testing on my arm.
Glides on like a dream. |
Slightly gross, but very fun. |
As you rub in, the gel becomes very watery, and these little lumps of dead skin begin to form. Neat! It's sort of engrossing to look at the dead skin cells begin to slough off and form into little piles. That was on me? It's both cool and digusting.
The piles have reached their final form. |
When I reach this part on my face, I generally have a tough time on a certain area of my chin in actually getting the piles of skin off. They seem to stick on and I have to follow up with a gentler scrub to actually get them to come off or I'm left with little lumps of dead skin, half attached to my face. Not pretty.
Notice the difference! |
DAY CREAM
And now for something completely different. |
After the honey peel, it's recommended that you follow up with the day cream as a moisturiser. At the product demonstration I was shown how the day cream goes on very smoothly onto freshly exfoliated skin, but has a much harder time seeping into the rougher skin of a non-exfoliated arm.
Applied in dabs. |
Then smoothed in, leaving no trace. |
SUMMARY
Would I purchase this again? Considering I'm nowhere near the end of either tub, it's hard to say whether this is a holy grail product or not. I do like the results, but I'd probably see if there is another peeling gel out there that suits my needs and is a bit more economical.
As far as the day cream goes, while it smells great, and leaves my skin feeling very soft and smooth, I have used it on my face, and while it feels good at first, can turn my oily T-zone into overdrive on hot days. I'll have to re-evaluate in the wintertime.
Overall: 4/5
I liked the honey peel, however I found the day cream didn't absorb that well for me, I have sensitive skin, my face looked a little dull and dry.
ReplyDeletei am using the toner/cleanser and the day cream for almost a week now: the toner made my face rough that i am very much tempted to scrub it with a loofah!; the day cream makes my face oily and sticky.. i wonder if this is a normal result for beginners..
ReplyDeletethis happened to me also :(
DeleteI've encountered again some agents selling this stuff, just recently. As they tried to lure me into buying it, I just realised how aburd it is! It's totally impossible to have an overnight result but their stories are exaggerated! The price is insane too. From 32k baht for one bottle down to 16k,a promotional price? Yep, that's scam spotted!
DeleteYour story above is exactly what happened to me today at Myer Centre and i ended up purchasing the manuka honey peel. Very impressed with its effects so far in clearing the dead skin. Hope I get the glow back on my face.
ReplyDeletethe same goes for me today. and the most painful part is that I'm broke on Valentine's day. I am confused and not very sure on how to use this. But I am really hoping that it's effective since I am having a rough time with my face. :(
DeleteHi buy this in glorrieta mall the manuka honey peel and exfoliated scrub its hiyang or effective smooth soft my skin it removes dirt dryness;)

I was at Melbourne Central with my girlfriend this morning. When we walked pass through the Organi's stand, one of the salesperson offered a product sample to my girlfriend, however, he didn't give her the sample rather than he invite her to come the stand to show the other products. Then, the guy inappropriately forced my girlfriend to buy a pack of product worth $180 (INSANE !). Then I decided to tell the salesperson honestly that my girlfriend really didn't want to buy the product. Eventually, the most shocking stuff, that annoying salesperson said some abusive words to me (wtf???). ITS NOT CLEAN WAYS TO ATTRACT CUSTOMERS RATHER THAN ANNOYING!!!!
ReplyDeleteYeah that's what happened to me and my gf too. But, they did not use aggresive words, they just magically led my gf to buy that product.

ReplyDeleteI got introduced to this product today at Westfield, Parramatta in Sydney. The salesperson was really nice and I was impressed by the manuka honey's result. But when I saw the price of $150, my mouth nearly dropped. She then threw in a lipbalm (which smelled divine) and gave me a bit of discount. I kinda caved in and after negotiating with her, I managed to get the whole thing for $90. I'm pretty excited to try it out. I have horrible skin, so hopefully i'll see an improvement :)
ReplyDeleteI bought the manuka honey peel and the toner yesterday. The salesperson hit on me LOL said he thought I was cute and I reminded him of his Japanese girlfriend LOL Even said he liked my voice and shit. He was cute and in my head I was like yo does this brand train their sales people to flirt? LOL I like the effect of the manuka honey. Haven't tried the toner yet cos I still have my lancome toner. I'm huge on lancom products and wanna see how this brand would fair against lancome
ReplyDeleteIt is SHIT steer clear of these sharks and their inferior products, they are part of a huge worldwide Israeli company who market their range under many different names & packaging - I know because I've been hooked in by them enough times. Always staffed by aggressive rude God looking young Israelis who flatter , insult & tell lies. I would like to see them banned from Australian shopping centres
ReplyDeleteCan you tell me exactly mane of company from Israel? Can I contact to you to get more information ?
DeleteIs this the same company that own Forever Flawless? I think it might be. The same sales techniques and very similar products, just packaged differently I'm assuming. You get charged top dollar for inferior products. My mother was pretty much robbed by them. Charged $300 for a small face cleanser and moisturiser. If she was buying at the Chanel counter that might be one thing but this brand isn't well known, or seemingly legitimate.
ReplyDeleteOh wow, the exact same thing happened to me when I was at Melbourne Central. The honey peel was $180 and it was so expensive. But i got tempted because they threw in a free day cream and lip balm. 😂 I really hope it's worth the money...
ReplyDeleteI want to sell my origani skincare. The eye cream not even open yet.
ReplyDeletewhy u buy at 1st place?
DeleteI had the honey peel treatment in Darwin today. I'm a hard target so I was able to barter the price down from $180 to $90. Which is still way too expensive for my liking but I'm hoping that it will be worthwhile!
ReplyDeleteI just actually bought a product from them in Glorietta. That moment when you were just walking by and then a girl stopped you saying she'll give a sample and then poof she explained a lot of products and then a guy came (manager) whos very agressive and yeah wont take no for an answer. I was about to go but then since he is the manager he gave me a huge discount and i bought a cream and the soap.
ReplyDelete45 minutes afterim here now typing this message and dreading for the result
How was it?
DeleteHello i have my stock black pearl 24k gold Cleopatra mask.pls email me if you are interested to buy. I wanted to sell and i will give discount to interested buyers. Pls email me at ghuydiabordo@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteI bought manuka honey peel from the counter at the shopping mall in my country. I bought it since the staff gave me 50% discount from the original price and I'm almost running out of my scrub that I'm using. They gave me free facial voucher. I went to the clinic (that's what they claimed) normally we call it salon.is ok that's how they differentiate them self by claiming that their products is not a skincare but a treatment instead. So when i arrived, somebody else is doing the facial since i was about 15 mins late. So the staff said she will detox my skin and told me to keep the voucher for next time. So she de-tox my at the counter, basically she just applied few products on my skin. I cant remember the exact name of the products but it is for eyes and a cream mask for the face. She asked me to rate their products from 1-10. While the staff was detoxing my skin, her manager came and sat next to me, and try to get me buying their products by telling me that she will gave me a huge discount and participated in their project. The offer only valid for that day.I refused to buy anything and she was a bit disappointed. After that I re arranged my appointment to the next week. This time i have to wait for 15 mins, because the customer who was before me, came a bit late. I am ok with it. So I went to the treatment room, and guess what they have different manager on duty that day. She, and the staff who is going to do the facial on my skin were inside the treatment room, and she is persuading you to buy their products AGAIN!. It is so annoying but i just ignored her considering i got the free facial. Unfortunately, is not the full facial. Maybe she already knew that I'm not going to buy any of their products, after using the medical devices that they claimed can help to overcome many health problems, she ended my facial with a cream. I will never ever buy or go to ORIGANI again.
ReplyDeletemay i know where r u from? your story almost similar to me except i didnt go yet to the facial treatment
Deletethis is exactly the same experience except that they did the detox treatment on the spot when I bought the Manuka Peel and offered me to participate in their project on that they itself. I refused and I saw the manager’s face changed and the way she treated me also changed
DeleteI'm from Malaysia. Same trick happened to me. I will never go Origani again.
DeleteI cant believe that they used the aggressive marketing to sell their products like that. Maybe it works for other people but after using their manuka honey for few weeks i didnt see huge difference.
ReplyDeleteSame thing ALMOST happen to me today! Its not the 1st time my hand was scrubbed n moisturized and looked amazing compared to the abandoned other. So i was very sceptical. I had acne scars left on my cheeks but the sales person who claimed to be the region manager too didnt emphasize at all what treatment the manuka scrub and night cream-which he said is a must have- will provide me. I was interested in the night cream and asked if there was a sample. He said they dont provide due to the packaging etc. This really turned me off to think that im about to splurge RM600++ , this is when he offered more than 50% less of a discount which really give me the feeling that this is one of the many countless marketing schemes that i really dont want to be a part of. I said to him I'll read thr reviews online first and come back if im interested- but he replied that i wont. Well, thank god hes right! Thank you to all sharing your experiences too!
ReplyDeletei have fineline & dark circle issues. Then i ask my ofismate, she suggest this 1 for me...so i end up bought the erda set with 5 items.. huhu...
Deletedid u came to IOI or other origani branch?
I just bought the thermal set plus eyes set. Rm5.5 k (free 2 day cream, 2night cream, one body scrub, manuka honey peel, toning cleanser and glow cleanser). I was also been offered free 3 years facial including vip diamond card cost 30k. So i will try and monitor the progress for 3 months, if not working on my skin, the beauty advisor (lily) said may return the products and they will refund the money. Does the refund having an official policy? Is it true the items refundable? Help me
ReplyDeleteso how’s the product so far?
DeleteThey will not refund. I used their mask for pigmentation and had red inflammation after application. They are offering me exchange instead of return and refund. They will ask you to see properly, "NO REFUND FOR GOODS SOLD"
Deletei bought the manuka product last nov.2018 at trinoma mall... the salesperson offered a sample product scubbed on my hand... no problem about the product but the price i guess is too much. i refused to buy the product but she keeps on pushing it to me. the foreigner manager came and gave us promo of 50 percent discount and another 50 percent off to another product when we come back plus a free facial treatment stated in the official receipt, but when i tried to redeem my free facial treatment, the manager told uswhat cream we use after the manuka.... i said nothing.... he told us that the treatment cost 8k+per treatment and so on...meaning they don't offer A Real free facial treatment if you did not buy another product😟 treat us fairly with the kind of promo that you offer please,no problem with the product but the way how you you sell your product to satisfy your fairly ur costumer😊
ReplyDeleteHey ladies, I'll chime in about Origani. I'm a guy :) was walking in Swanson St Melb. and offered a free sample by a female staff and then a guy walked over and offered a free consultation. I listened to his 'schpeel'! He was ok not too pushy. I told him I'm a student so very poor. He didn't push me to buy. Sorry to this ladies, but, a lot of don't know how to say NO! Just say Thx, I'll research yr company and walk out. Simple :))
ReplyDeleteYou are a darling. And that's the way to be ..
DeleteThe 2 girls at merrylands mall 1 Russian and the other Philippine are absolutely darlings .i didn't get anything but they treat me 10 aut of 10.and I may go back again to buy a product
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI was lured in to Melbourne Central shop by Sheer. Although she was a little pushy you have to be in her job. She was very nice and she did her job well. I didn't buy the product as I said I would prefer to research it when I got home. She was fine with that.
